Ok, so if you haven’t seen ‘Valentino: The Last Emperor’ stop reading right now and pin yourself in front of your television until you’ve absorbed every last minute of the movie AND if you did see it but didn’t shed a tear go back and watch it again! The movie was amazing and absolutely gave life to a man so many admire. Suddenly before my eyes he was human, and not just some genius mythological man dripped in red charmeuse. To hear Karl Lagerfeld (and I mean come on it’s Karl!) praise this man really speaks volumes for the artist at hand. Seriously, everything was created by hand and the ONE sewing machine purchased only collected dust and was thrown away?! Bravo Valentino! Throughout my years as a designer I have found so much inspiration from this man as he truly is the epitome of an haute couture designer!
